To be honest, there are many Sign and Graphic companies out there that have been around as long as us. Do we have an answer for everything? No, but we work hard to find answers for you faster and through our experience and resources, are able to offer a variety of options you may not have considered. VSI strives to learn more and meet your expectations on every job. We don't want to surprise anyone with hidden costs so we are as up-front as we can be in communicating with you about your project.
Our pricing is based on the square footage of materials used. We carry three vinyl product types. Economy, Medium and Premium grade materials with each carrying their own advantages. We also offer a wide range of substrate material options to meet your project needs. Vehicle Wraps for instance, are priced out with the following factors in mind: Square Footage of material (about $7.60/sqft); Installation fees ranging from $3.60/sqft to $6.75/sqft (depending on the complexity of the vehicle's curves, Rivets and components to be wrapped) and how much preparation the vehicle needs prior to installation (for example some vehicles come to us after years of use and have been cared for but require extra attention or more detailed cleaning); Artwork setup and Design fees are billed at $68.90 per hour to the half. There is not a charge for set up on Designs we have created for you. If you are supplying artwork to us this cost depends on how your artwork has been created and how easily we can adapt it to your project.
Our Printer uses an Eco-Sol Ink that has been formulated by Roland to give you long-lasting UV-resistance that is comparable with the best our industry offers today. Without Laminate, Most signs last about 6-36 months but that depends on its care and use and the material chosen to be printed on. Economy Grade Materials last about 6-12 months without laminate but it can scratch. Laminate will protect your prints much longer. Mid-Grade Materials will last 3-5 years with laminate. Longer if a premium Laminate is used and less without laminate at all. Premium Materials will give you the best life available out there (5-9 years they say but we have a job out there still that was installed in 2002!). We can use this material for any project but mostly for Vehicle Wraps. We use 3M, Avery, and Orajet brands depending on your needs. Each is as good as the other but are more appropriate for some projects than others. Our knowledge and experience will assist you in making the right choice to meet your needs.
No, not all. In fact most exotic car owners get their vehicles wrapped before they wash it the first time to protect the paint and customize it before they drive it. The vinyl is not indestructible it can scratch but it covers the surface of your vehicle and helps against stone chips ect. When it is removed your paint is swirl free from washes and will shine like the day it was installed.
1. Artwork/Design: If you have artwork or logo files available, then have a clear comprehensive design idea that we can work from. Changes will cost us time (and you money) so by reducing the number of revisions will help. Many people know someone with some design or graphics experience. That can be very useful in some situations, but more often the designs are not as compatible as they could be for final output. We are a Vector Based Company which means the way our files are set up for you will work across a wide spectrum of uses. When you or your designer supplies his or her artwork to us in most cases it has been designed for some other type of project and this can cause problems. In most cases we need to get under the layers of your artwork to create the best possible out put for your needs and we often have to go back and forth though you and your designer several times to unlock the artwork for our use. This takes time. We have thousands of fonts but there are still so many more out there and purchasing a font can be expensive. If we create your artwork in-house, these problems never exist. If your designer has never physically wrapped a vehicle (or worked with an installer to create such a design) then we will need to make adjustments to your artwork to ensure that it aligns to your vehicle without obstruction from door handles, mirrors and a like. Using clipart for your project carries minimum resolution (DPI) requirements and many people find they are not prepared for this as well.
2. Vehicle preparation: If you are getting your vehicle lettered or wrapped, please wash it well before you bring it to us. You have chosen the best materials for a long lasting investment and we need to work with a very clean surface in order to ensure the installation reaches your expectations. We will clean the vehicle precisely for wrap or graphics installation but bringing it in to us as clean as you can will save us time and avoid any of those hidden cost we don't need to add on at the end.
For wraps we often require removing certain components from your vehicle such as tail-lights, mirrors, door handles, etc. This is a normal part of the process, so not to worry, however this takes time. If you have the knowledge and ability to remove these before-hand then that helps to speed up the installation process as well. Time is money?
3. Keep the lines of communication clear, open and respectful. Share examples of products, layouts or colours that you are currently using or have caught your eye. Gather as much information as you can about what you are looking to have created, including the budget that you are working within. Ask questions if something is unclear. We can only work with the information you have provided so the better the communication, the more quickly and accurately your project will be completed.
